Finnish Art Society - purpose and activities

The Finnish Art Assoication, founded in 1846, supports and promotes Finnish visual art. The association gives out grants and awards to visual artists and critics. Our emphasis is to support in particular young artists in the early stages of their career.

The association organizes exhibitions of art produced in Finland. Our members gain free access to our events.

A tradition dating back to 19th centry, Finnish Art Association purchases annually artworks to be given to members in an annual lottery. Approximately hundred works from artists residing in Finland are purchased every year. In addition, the association organizes croquis life drawing nigts with Helsinki Kunsthalle on Tuesday nights.

Finnish Art Association member base is around 1200. Any friend of the arts may join the association by paying the annual fee, which currently is set at 40€.
