About the membership

WHO CAN JOIN FINNISH ART SOCIETY?​

​

Membership of Finnish Art Society is open to all art lovers on payment of the annual membership fee (40 euro in 2024). Children can also be members, but children under 15 do not have a vote. Membership in the art society must be an expression of the person’s own free will, however; for instance, parents cannot register babies as members. Children wishing to become members are so accepted. Child members and voting members (anyone over 15) are treated as equals in the art lottery.

It is also possible to give the membership as a gift, but the membership must be confirmed by the recipient. The membership becomes valid after this confirmation.

WHAT DOES THE MEMBERSHIP INVOLVE?

​

As a member of Finnish Art Society, you support the Finnish art world, receive information about art, and develop your knowledge of art. You can also win works of contemporary art in the annual lottery.

​

You can also participate in the art society’s activities, events, exhibitions, lottery and excursions. The art society also organises life drawing sessions on Tuesday nights in Kunsthalle Helsinki. The croquis sessions are open to all.

​

The art society purchases about a hundred works by Finnish artists annually. The works are raffled among its members in the annual art lottery. Instead of building up a collection of its own, the society circulates the works in the homes of its members.

You can join the art society using the form below. You can also join by sending an email to info(a)suomentaideyhdistys.fi or by phone +358 (0)45 7731 4315. Please give us your name, your contact information and your year of birth. We will send you an invoice, and after you’ve paid it, you will receive the membership card by post. Please remember to use the reference number when paying the invoice. Do not pay the membership fee of more than one person with the same reference number.

 

Please note that the 2023 membership card is valid until the end of February 2024.
